Help me out Cookers!

My sweet husband was one HUGE sweetheart on Valentines Day! He surprised me with a VERY-LONG-TIME wanted KitchenAid! We didn't get anything for Christmas, and he decided to take a little of our tax returns and purchase this for me! However... I have a good friend that has had some problems with her KitchenAid, which brought me to the computer to research about them. It seems that many people have problems with theirs going out on them, but of course there were more people saying good stuff rather than bad about them. Luckily, KitchenAid is good about exchanging them. It is nice that they will exchange for me, but do I even want to go there? So... I started reading about the Bosch Mixer. It seems to be good as well. I just don't know enough about either of them and need some help deciding! Any suggestions?

We have a compact Bosch and love it. I would never get a KitchenAid after having it. If you have a Bosch store near you go to one of their free basic bread classes. They will tell you every reason to have one instead of a KitchenAid. And show you some great tricks for using it. Good Luck!

I have a Kitchen Aid and love it! My mom had a bosch for years and now she too has a Kitchen aid. Tough decision ahead for you. Either way they are so nice and make baking/cooking a more pleasureable experience. :)

I have a kitchenaid and really like it, but I can tell its not going ot be one of those "I've had this for 20 years and its still going strong" things. However, my mom has a bosch and it will probably be passed through the generations, its so tough! I'm probably going to get one when my kitchenaid gives up the ghost.
HOWEVER. In defense of the kitcheaid, there are many different kinds and the difference is all the motor. If you get one with a stronger motor, it will be much more durable and last longer. Plus, kitchenaids come in a gajillion adorable colors and I like the look of them a bit more than bosch :) have fun cooking!!!

I say go with Bosch. The warranty's longer and it's a really good quality product.
I'm so jealous you got a Kitchen Aide though. I've wanted one ever since Peter and I got married. Both the kitchen aide and bosch are awesome.

I've never even heard of Bosch. We have a Kitchen-Aid. We got it used and it's about 7 years old and it still works better than any other stand mixer we've tried. We LOVE it!

Have you consulted Cooks Illustrated? We really trust their product evaluations.

I have a bosch and I love it! I'd go with that, they last forever. My mom has had her's since her wedding (30 ish years ago)! Besides, I love that there is no arm over the top of the bowl, so mixing is really easy and you can see what's happening. Good luck!

Hey Megan! I have a Bosch and it is AWESOME! If you like to bake bread, rolls, cookies I would definitely recommend it. It is so powerful and wonderful! I have friends that have Kitchenaids that swear by them as well, but their engines aren't as powerful and can't take as much. Check them both out and choose the one that seems the easiest, best to use for you. Good luck choosing!
